Platforms: Chrome Extension · Android

Short Version

We collect nothing. Your text lives in your own GitHub account. Your credentials stay on your device. We have no servers and receive no data from you. This policy applies to both the Chrome extension and the Android app.

What Synced Scratchpad Does

Synced Scratchpad stores a text pad in a private GitHub Gist that you create and own. It communicates exclusively with the GitHub API (api.github.com) to read and write that Gist on your behalf.

What Information Is Involved

What We Do Not Do

Network Requests

Synced Scratchpad makes requests to exactly one external host: https://api.github.com. Requests are made only while the app or extension is actively in use — there is no background activity. The requests carry your PAT in an Authorization header (as required by the GitHub API) and a User-Agent header identifying the app.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your PAT and Gist ID are stored on your device for as long as the app or extension is installed and you have not cleared them. You can remove them at any time via the settings screen, by entering new credentials, or by uninstalling.

Your text content lives in the GitHub Gist you created. You can edit or delete that Gist at any time through your GitHub account.

Children's Privacy

Synced Scratchpad is not directed at children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect any information from children. The app requires a GitHub account, which itself requires users to be at least 13 years old.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised date at the top. Continued use of the app or extension after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
