Overview
Sun Watch is an Android home screen widget that shows sunrise time, sunset time, and total daylight hours for your location. This policy describes what information the app accesses and how it is handled. The short version: Sun Watch does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. Everything the app stores stays on your device.
Information We Collect
Sun Watch does not collect any personal information. No account is required. No analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or tracking SDKs are included.
The app saves your device's geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) using local device storage (SharedPreferences). This is the only data stored, and it never leaves your device. It is used solely to calculate sun times for your location and is deleted if you uninstall the app.
Permissions
Sun Watch requests the following system permissions:
- Location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION) — Required to determine your geographic coordinates so that accurate sunrise and sunset times can be calculated. Your location is read once when you open the app and saved to local storage on your device. It is never transmitted to any server or shared with any third party. Sun Watch does not track your location over time.
No other permissions are requested or used.
Third-Party Services
Sun Watch does not integrate with any advertising networks, analytics platforms, social media SDKs, or external services of any kind. All calculations are performed entirely on-device using open astronomical algorithms.
Children's Privacy
Sun Watch is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Because Sun Watch collects no personal data from any user, no special handling is required.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy is updated, the new version will be posted at the same URL with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
